Whipped up a centerpiece and 6 mini arrangements for a dinner party my mom is having tomorrow night.
Some of the fun things in the bouquets are: Crespedia (also known as billy balls) berzilia, tulips, asiatic lilies, liatris, sunflowers, stock, curly willow, and this really cool branchy white stuff I don't know the name of!

beautiful things come with a price
Today I'm working with "Rolex" red roses from California. Most roses these days are so hybridized that they hardly have thorns. These are definitely an exception...check out these spikes!

Happy Administrative Professionals Day!
Today was Administrative Professional's Day also known in the past as "Secretary's Day"
The flower shop that I do freelance work for sometimes asked me to come in to do miscellaneous design work and even some deliveries! Call me crazy, but I love delivering! (I used to always want to be a bus driver so I could drive a large vehicle around all day)
Here's a little about my busy, but fun day...
Spent some time making these cutsie little arrangements for the bosses that wanted a little something for their secretary or "administrative professional"
I also got to take some deliveries...
First delivery was a GORGEOUS arrangement (wish I would have taken a pic) to Medtronic. Had to bring it through security and everything, but the highlight of that delivery was that it was on Coral Sea Street! Coral Sea?!?! In Minnesota? Sounds like a Florida street name...it just gave me happy thoughts about my ever so distant dream of moving to Florida.
Second delivery was to our beautiful state capitol. Hate to say it, but I had NEVER been inside before! I am very glad I got to take this delivery!
A nice man led around this corner and that, and down this hallway and that, and up this elevator...after I dropped off the arrangement, he was gone! And I was lost! But, I enjoyed it and snapped a few pictures...
The building is so gorgeous! I had no idea! There was even a speech/press conference going on in the rotunda!
I did make my way outside, on the wrong side of the building, but I didn't mind because I got to walk down all these steps and snapped this picture too.
Then I took a leisurely jog in the beautiful sunshine back to the delivery van.
My last delivery that I took was to a receptionist at a die cast company. I brought the arrangement in and said it was for "Mickey" that's what the card said. She said there was no Mickey there. I read the last name...she said, "oh, that's me! My name is Nikki and that's my last name!" I guess someone heard the name over the phone wrong.
Needless to say, she was ecstatic and actually started crying right then and there! She said "they are too good to me here." I love running into people who love their job and who are treated well!
Lastly, I just wanted to say, I love how many cool textures and flowers I get to work with. Here's a little picture of just some of the fun stuff... The tricillium (darker green fluffy spikey stuff) and berzilia (round textured ball things) were my 2 favorites of the day...the other more common flowers are tulips, asiatic lilies, and roses...enjoy!
